Widely accepted as the greatest pop band that’s ever been, ABBA holds a special place in many a music lover’s heart. Their winning performance in the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest was beamed into people’s homes across Europe bringing them a fanbase of millions in an instant. Their songs were a masterclass in song writing with themes of heartbreak and joy – it didn’t hurt that they were extremely attractive as well.
Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad were the focal point of the group, not only for their uplifting harmonies but for their dance moves thanks to the two hours of dance lessons they took each day. Their costumes were flamboyant and designed to show off their figures, leading to Agnetha being voted “Sexiest bottom in pop music”! One outfit in particular showed off her enviable posterior; the white and silver jumpsuit as worn in the official music video for Mamma Mia and on their European 1974/5 tour, and it is that very outfit that is the the inspiration behind this dramatic white jumpsuit.
Made from a white pleather material with just the right amount of stretch, it has a zip at the back, sweetheart neckline and corset-style lacing to the bodice. A silver glitter trim at the waist accentuates your narrowest part, while the white faux fur cuffs and three-tiered bell bottoms give an exaggerated silhouette, with further silver glitter trim to catch the light. The finishing touch is a single silver sequin star above the right hip. Add a blonde wig and microphone and you’ll be the Dancing Queen of the party!
