Day of the Dead or Día de Muertos is a Mexican holiday where family and friends gather together to pray and remember loved ones who have died. It is on October 31st to coincide with Halloween in other cultures. Traditions connected to the day of the dead include the building of private altars, honouring the dead using sugar skulls and marigolds, eating and drinking favourite things of the deceased and visiting the deceased graves.
This beautiful day of the dead eye mask has been decorated with a sugar skull style red and black colours. The eyemask has red glitter petals around the eyes drawn with black glitter lines. The eyemask has red and black ribbon trim aroudn the edges and some black glitter swirls for extra detail. This eye mask is a wonderful example of what day of the dead sugar skulls would have looked like.
